alhamdulillah, got time to go online..heh..

just came back from a dae full of unplanned activities..heh..

in the late morning I went out with mum and sis to Novena Square..had lunch at Magic Wok and went window shopping at Velocity..

arrrrrrrrr!..I was so tempted to buy a few outdoor stuff but had to control myself..nak kene jimat babe..ahakz..

after that we decided to catch a movie at Bugis..and guess what?..what?..I thought there was a GV cinema somewhere near Bugis, so I could have used my Safra card to get discount..but I thought wrong..haiz..at last we went to Shaw to catch The Jumper..heh..how was the movie you might ask?..not bad ar..ahakz..it was already 5 plus by the time the movie ends..so we went our separate ways and I went off to Sultan Mosque to meet my friends from Yaqin..

it was a last minute decision for us, Yaqinians, to hold a simple farewell gathering for Bro Rizal who will be embarking on a journey far far away..heh..okie2..he will be working overseas as a PA..oh yah, he will be going to Qatar for a year..

we had dinner at New Victory, ate quite alot though..chicken murtabak, mutton murtabak and prawn masala..and not forgetting, lots of water..heh..after dinner we went off to Esplanade, hoping that we could watch the Chingay which was happening somewhere near the Padang..alhamdulillah, we managed to watch the colourful vehicles going back..ahakz..at least dapat tengok jugak..heh..

I wonder how it would be like leaving home, far far away, for a year..hmm..not being able to taste your mum's cooking, not being able to go out with your friends, not being able to meet your loved ones and etc..it must be painful I guess..maybe it's nothing to some people..unlike me, that time when I went to Taiwan for 3 weeks, it was already painful for me..there's alwaes a reason why we have to go through this kind of challenges and obstacles in life..may we be guided, inshaAllah..

let's pray for the best for Bro Rizal..

Good and Bad..

so fast it's already Saturdae, tomorrow night booking in again..haiz..

for the past week during my break, a couple of things happened..

I have been eating alot lately..heh..yesterdae, just dinner alone, I ate 1 plate of mee hoon goreng, shared a plate of kebab and a couple of sup tulang..and todae, I ate a few slices of pizzas, maggie mee, 2 egg prata and loads of cookies..ahakz..I really wanna put on more mass sey..heh..

I also ave been doing alot of self-reflections, thinking and pondering..well, things have not been good for us..I just hope that things will be fine in the future..anywaes, the best thing to do for now is to constantly ask Him for guidance and inshaAllah everything will be fine..I really hope so..

I came across this words while reading a book;

anywaes, yesterdae I went climbing with my youth..for the first time in my climbing history, I was so 'on' to climb..I was like climbing and climbing sey..heh..did routes, speed climbing and a bit of bouldering..and you noe what?..what?..I got scolded by one of the staff there for not belaying correctly..heh..I didn't follow the 5-step system..ahakz..cause I was so used to belay very fast..oh well..

anywaes, I will be busy for the next few weeks..won't be blogging that much..

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger.

Dear brother in Islam, thank you very much for raising this good question that reflects a good understanding and truthful desire to have a clearer view of the teachings of Islam. May Allah crown this truthful desire with His satisfaction and reward!

In his response to the question in point, the eminent Muslim scholar, Sheikh Yusuf Al-Qaradawi, states:

“Betrothal, literally, customarily and legally, is different from marriage. It is an introduction and a promise to marry. Books of language draw a difference between betrothal and marriage. Likewise, in custom there is a distinction between a fiancé and a married man. Similarly, in Islamic law (Shari`ah) there is a big difference between the two terms; so betrothal is no more than a declaration to marry a certain woman, but marriage is a complete relationship based on a sound contract and a solemn covenant that entails specific requirements, rights and consequences. The Glorious Qur’an refers to both betrothal and marriage in the course of its reference to the case of widows: “There is no sin for you in that which ye proclaim or hide in your minds concerning your troth with women. Allah knoweth that ye will remember them. But plight not your troth with women except by uttering a recognized form of words. And do not consummate the marriage until (the term) prescribed is run.” (Al-Baqarah: 235)

Betrothal, whatever the punctilious signs it may put on, constitutes no more than a promise of marriage. Betrothal, therefore, does not entitle a fiancé to any right other than keeping the fiancée for his sake, in such a way that no one else can propose to her. In a Hadith, it is stated: “It is unlawful for a man to make an offer of betrothal to a woman who is already betrothed to another man.”

The most important thing I would like to emphasize on in this regard is that a woman is considered to be foreign to her fiancé until they are married. She can be regarded as a wife only through a sound, legal marriage contract; the main pillar in the marriage contract is offer and acceptance, which has a well-known formula in custom and Shari`ah.

As long as the marriage contract has not been concluded, marriage, according to custom and Shari`ah, is not fulfilled, the fiancée is still regarded as foreign to her fiancé; so, he is not allowed to be alone with her nor to accompany her in any travel without the presence of any of her unmarriageable kin like her father or brother.

According to the law of Islam, whenever one wants to divorce one’s wife after concluding the contract of marriage and before consummation, one should give her half of the dower; Allah, the Almighty, says: “If ye divorce them before ye have touched them and ye have appointed unto them a portion, then (pay the) half of that which ye appointed, unless they (the women) agree to forgo it, or he agreeth to forgo it in whose hand is the marriage tie.” (Al-Baqarah: 237)

But if the fiancé deserts his fiancée, he will not be required to pay his fiancée any thing; of course he may only face some reproach or embarrassment, then how can a fiancée be given the same privileges as a married man before consummating marriage?”

home sweet home, at last..after 3 weeks of training and recreation..heh..alhamdulillah..

we were supposed to arrive in Singapore at 0130 hours but due to some technical breakdown, there was a delay in time of half an hour..so you could imagine those family members, friends and love ones who have waited so long to see their sons again..ahakz..

I don't know why I couldn't sleep well so I decided to upload my pics at Multiply..the pics will roughly tell you what happened..heh..enjoy!..
